About the Role
LAND 4100 is a system of systems Land C4 capability program consisting of four major systems:
Battlefield Telecommunications Network (BTN). The BTN is the wide area network that provides communication between strategic and operational echelons. The BTN is the Joint Land Force’s communications backbone.
Tactical Communications Network (TCN). The TCN is the extension of the BTN into the Tactical echelon. The TCN provides voice and data communications within a tactical area. The BTN provides the connectivity between different tactical areas.
Battle Management System (BMS). The BMS consists of the hardware and software products that are integrated to provide Command and Control and Situational Awareness functions in support of the decision cycles within military operations. BMS is predominantly an information service.
Deployed Information Environment (DIE) – The DIE is the deployable local area network infrastructure which provides the Land warfighter information environment. Although The DIE will continue to be part of the Land C4 Capability System, the deployed information environments are planned to become a Joint C4 responsibility under the Warfighter Networks and Applications (WNA) sub-program.
This role is within the CASG environment working on Land 4100 project, completing communications engineering assigned work and contributing to the authoring of the Capability Development Document suite. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. They will provide detailed systems engineering technical and professional advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. Tasks in this role include, but not limited to:
Review requirements documentation
Support to RFI development, and technical assessment
Review and support ongoing development of PES
Support development of engineering strategies and plan
Support to Gate 1 Documentation suite
Support FIC integration
Review sponsor documentation (business case, JCNS, Statement of Operating Intent)
Review and implement findings of IAR and Smart Buyer activities
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
Degree qualified in Engineering or Science with related field experience (for example telecommunications, ICT or complex mission systems, and communications environments). Good experience in DoDAF/AusDAF architectures. Good experience in requirements definition and systems engineering. Above or below the line experience.

Desirable Qualification/ Skills/ Experience:
Expertise in ICT strategies, architectures, operating platforms, networks, security compliance and governance
