Overview

**This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP**

Under supervision of the Audio-Visual Manager, responsible for the overall operation of the Land Mobile Radio network and the WAVES Mass Notification System. Manage and support the Land Mobile Radio System (LMRS), and act as the primary POC for all user generated support issues. Responsible for requesting, and managing frequency allocations

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

Manage the daily operations of the LMRS and WAVES Mass Notification System.
Responsible for checking all conventional repeater sites that support the LMRS radio network.
Responsible for fleet-mapping frequency and channel usage for all network users; reprogramming radios, over the air rekey (OTAR), and troubleshooting all associated equipment.
Supervise all Technicians/Engineers who work on the LMRS and WAVES Mass Notification System.
Able to work with outside agencies concerning the system and provide escort services when needed.
Provide training for the Communication Engineers so their skills are up to date on current equipment.
Provide fleet map annually and as directed by the COR or ACO.
Act as the primary POC for all user generated issues relating to the LMRS and WAVES Mass Notification System.
Identify improvements and make recommendations for enhancements and upgrades to the overall performance of the systems.
Request, manage, and allocate frequencies from the designated USG representative on behalf of the COR.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High School with 8 years’ experience OR Associates with 4 years’ experience OR Bachelor’s with 1-2 years’ experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Secret clearance.
Meets requirements outlined in AR 25-2 for NIPRNET access. 6. DoD Information Assurance Awareness Training (https://ia.gordon.army.mil/dodiaa/).
A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

In order to qualify for this position, you must be fully vaccinated prior to the start of your assignment and show proof of your vaccination status, unless you are legally entitled to an accommodation (religious or medical).

 

The definition of fully vaccinated is that you’ve: 1.) received a vaccine that is recognized by the governing entity and is either a.) Two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine b.) Two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine c.) Two doses of Moderna Vaccine (or) d. One dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, and 2.) Two weeks elapsed after the final dose was administered, which is either one or two doses depending on brand of the vaccination.

Experience:
High School with 8 years’ experience OR Associates with 4 years’ experience OR Bachelor’s with 1-2 years’ experience.
Skills:
Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.
Customer service training.
Must possess a Professional demeanor.
Work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle and other supervisory levels of management.
Exercise direction and good judgment, possess high-level organizational and planning skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
As the primary subject matter expert, mentor and provide guidance to the Communication Engineers and Technicians.
Working Conditions:
Must be capable of working under extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Physical Requirements:
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
