What You’ll Get to Do
The Instructional Designer will be supporting the JABS project and its efforts supporting Law Enforcement and connecting with various Native American tribes to complete the mission in support of the Department of Justice. The role will be responsible for providing consulting services to evaluate and update existing training materials to ensure they are meeting their intended objective(s). They will develop new curriculum, ultimately creating customized online and sustainable training. Duties will include developing course material that aligns with customers’ needs, ensuring customers’ needs are met throughout each phase of the selected instructional design process (e.g. Instructional Systems Design (ISD); SAT (Systems Approach to Training); SAM (Successive Approximation Model)
More About the Role
Performs needs’ assessments, works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify audience training needs
Defines training objectives and instructional goals, creates interactive and engaging course content and course design documents
Analyzes Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and customer input to develop and modify training course material
Develops and designs practice exercises and performance assessments
Provides exercises and activities that enhance the learning process and establish criteria for assessment instruments
Ensures course development products comply with applicable guidance and standards (SCORM, Section 508, FISMA)
Utilizes Kirkpatrick evaluation method to develop evaluation instruments, evaluate training effectiveness, assesses quality and success of programs, shares feedback to validate effectiveness, and suggest improvements
Performs quality control and maintenance on course materials, manage training catalog and track changes across courses
Propose any new training materials to fill in gap
Create a dashboard to monitor, track, and analyze continuous improvement process across training series (documenting connection/impact on other training materials)
Enhance current training materials to develop custom, interactive online modules
You’ll Bring These Qualifications
Five (5) years’ experience in Instructional Design, and designing eLearning
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, adult education, Communications, or related field
Knowledge of instructional design methodology (e.g. ADDIE, Instructional Systems Design (ISD), SAT (Systems Approach to Training), and/or SAM (Successive Approximation Model)
Knowledge of course development software (Camtasia, Adobe Presenter and/or Captivate)
Strong proficiency with MS Office software package, Visio, and editing written/graphic presentations
Well organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model)
Ability to storyboard and write audio scripts
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have
Experience in project management with Federal government agencies
Knowledge of Kirkpatrick training evaluation method
Experience in fast paced, high volume training implementation
