Military Sealift Command Hiring Logisticians, Engineers
Military Sealift Command (MSC) operates approximately 125 civilian-crewed ships that replenish U.S. Navy ships, and CIVMARs make up the largest segment of MSC’s global workforce. We recruit transitioning military, merchant marines, maritime academy graduates, and skilled entry-level candidates to fill our maritime job opportunities. CIVMARs serve in a variety of externally hired positions in the Deck, Engine, Communications, Supply and Medical departments. The MSC mission is big. So are the rewards for the CIVMARs who help us complete it.
MSC recruits for entry-level positions in the Supply (Culinary & Logistics), Deck and Engine departments. Oftentimes mariners with skill-sets suited for other departments apply for these positions, because with our flexible career paths, qualified employees can compete for their desired department once their desired position becomes available.
In addition to primary positions, interested CIVMARs may apply to serve in our Surface Rescue Swimmer Program (SRS) as a collateral duty. Contact a recruiter for additional requirements/qualifications.
Based in Norfolk, VA with offices worldwide, the MSC Ashore team is a network of land-based operations that support the MSC mission overall. The Ashore mission encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including: engineering positions perform on-site construction, engineering test and inspection, and energy conservation; architecture positions that manage and perform work relating to the form, stability and performance of marine structures; and many other positions that provide IT, HR, planning and administrative support and more. Across all positions, MSC Ashore provides an exciting and dynamic work environment that offers outstanding rewards for hard work and dedication.
