The ideal candidate will perform duties for deploying, configuring and troubleshooting the hardware, software interfaces and database administration of the system in a VMware environment. This challenging position will support the U.S. ArmyCommunications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) Software Engineering Center (SEC) Field Support Directorate (FSD) to perform resident engineering and technical support to the Warfighter. In addition, this position will align with the local Army Field Support Battalions to provide support for exercises, combat operations, and contingency operations.
Required Skills
• Skilled in Databases and Unix shell script programming and debugging.
• Ability to identify database performance issues, recommend and implement solutions.
• Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and JDBC with the ability to write complex stored procedures, triggers.
• Ability to perform Unix/Linux shell script programming and debugging.
• Possess the ability to write and perform complex SQL queries that retrieve information from very large, relational database management systems
• Ability to identify database performance issues, recommend and implement solutions.
• Knowledge of Oracle and/ or SQL database administration
• Install configure, and maintain all ESX/ESXi hosts within the environment.
• Create, configure, and maintain resource clusters ensuring an efficient and balanced environment for all tenant POR systems. .
• Ensure proper initial installation as well as subsequent installations of updates/patches.
• Perform regular checks of system components for errors and application of necessary corrective action.
• Troubleshoot problems and take corrective action on a timely and effective basis.
• Provide routine status updates to organizational leadership.
• BS and 5 years of related experience or 9 years total years without a degree
• An active TS-SCI Security clearance
• CompTIA Security+ CE and/or the ability to obtain one of the below-listed certifications within 6 months
– Server +
– Linux +
– RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
– Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA)
– Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)(Server) 70-642 or 70-64
– Preferred Computing Environment: Oracle Certified Associate (Oracle 10g/11g)
Desired skills
• Configuring and managing Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10g/11g.
• Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) experience a plus.
• Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) experience a plus.
• Possess complex problem-solving skills
• Possess the ability to write and perform complex SQL queries that retrieve information from very large relational database management systems
